About this work
Overlapping geometric layers
Shelly Bremmer builds this square composition using a dense arrangement of shapes that reach every edge of the frame. Long vertical lines and rectangles stand out in the middle and on the right side, creating a structure for the smaller elements to rest upon. Circles, semicircles, and triangles overlap these larger forms, filling the space so that no part of the background remains empty. The magenta, orange, green, and white shapes fit together in a tight pattern that covers the entire surface.
A grainy texture covers the colored areas, giving the flat shapes a rougher appearance. While the vertical bars provide a sense of height, small zig-zag patterns and scattered circles break up the straight lines. These smaller details are tucked between the larger rectangles and triangles, adding layers to the modern abstract design.
